Military Order of the Cootie Pup Tent No. 29
&
Ladies Auxiliary
"A Cootie is closer than a Brother - Busier than a Bee"
The Military Order of the Cooties, Foxes Pup Tent No. 29 was formed March 15, 1964 with 26 Charter Members. The Ladies Foxes Auxiliary was chartered October 25, 1964.
The Military Order of the Cootie is the Honor Degree of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and a member of the Cooties must be active in the VFW.
Did you know? The primary reason the Military Order
of the Cootie exists is to provide support for our hospitalized comrades.
This is the main reason that we behave as we do.

History Corner:
In late 1919, several members of the Imperial Order of the Dragon (IOD), a higher degree of the United Spanish American War Veterans (USAWV) decided it would be a good thing to develop a similar order for the VFW to appeal to returning WWI vets. The MOC rolls were first opened for membership at the Oxford Hotel in Washington, D. C., on September 17, 1920. September 24, 1921, the MOC became an official part of the VFW after being accepted by the VFW National Encampment
